I love supporting small shops, especially when it comes to buying things for the kids! Most of the shops I have listed here are clothing shops, but there’s a couple that have great learning toys, as well. I have purchased from every one of these companies, and I am so pleased with not only the quality of their goods, but the thoughtfulness and experience that came from shopping with them. I hope you enjoy these shops, and discover something new!
The sweetest bows, hats, crewnecks, cardigans, and joggers you’ll find! Krisha is from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and hand makes all of her shop items. She’s got items for boys and girls, up to size 4T. Sofiya is a brand rep so use code LEFRIENDS10 for 10% off and mention Sofiya at the checkout. Visit the shop!
Natural, sustainable, and ethical bamboo clothing and accessories for everyone in the family. Their clothes are made in British Columbia and the quality is the best I have seen thus far. These clothes are softer than soft, and the colours and patterns they use are exactly our style. [Photo by Jax and Lennon] Visit the shop!
Jenna resides outside of Stony Plain, AB on a farm with her husband and 5 children. Her Instagram account is serious goals, and her Alphabet and Counting Cards are perfect for little ones to learn on. Visit the shop!
Tracey is one of my awesome friends. We were roommates at one time, and she has since moved to California to marry the love of her life and raise their son, Harper there. She makes the sweetest blankets, lovies, rompers, and dresses. While not technically based in Canada, she’s a Canadian at heart and spends a lot of time up here when she can. Visit the shop!
Bonnets, blankets, and scrunchies made from the sweetest fabrics by Lisa in Slocan, British Columbia. The quality of her sewing is top notch and if it was up to me (and not my bank account), I would have one of everything she makes! Visit the shop!
Bows, scarves, hats, scrunchies, and hats made in Shediac, New Brunswick by Samantha. We have one of her infinity scarves for Misha and it’s so cute and keeps him nice and cozy during the winter. I’ve been eyeing up the matching toque, and one for Sofi, and one for myself. Visit the shop!
Handmade clothing and accessories for your little ones made by Jenn on Vancouver Island. Great quality and the cutest colours and designs! I ordered a crewneck for Misha and it fits great and is so darn cute! [Photo by Nautical Nerys] Visit the shop!
Ethically handcrafted children’s clothing made in Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Yolanda founded the company and designs and makes every piece with the assistance of her small team of seamstresses. These clothes are seriously dreamy! We have one of the bonnets, but I would love to get my hands on some of the clothes one day, too. Visit the shop!
The sweetest and most adorable ethical heirloom dolls handmade by Amy in Vernon, British Columbia. I managed to get one of the snuggle bunnies during her last release, and I am absolutely in love with it. I know it’s going to be a toy that Sofiya has forever and will hand down to her own children one day. Visit them on Instagram!
